Laser Face Lifting
Unlike traditional cosmetic facelifts where skin is removed and tissue is repositioned, a laser facelift treats the surface of the skin to remove wrinkles, scars and sun damage while tightening skin. The treatment allows the doctor to target deeper layers of tissue or all layers of skin to tighten tissue, without the need for surgery. The laser facelifting treatment can make changes to your facial tissue in cases where cosmetic surgery is not desirable or possible.
This non-invasive facelift threading does not require any extended downtime, bruising or swelling. It tightens and lifts the lower face, smooths wrinkles and rejuvenates replenishes the look of the neck. A laser facelift can help reduce the signs of aging without the need for scalpels, stitches or scars.
Ageing tends to be most noticeable in sagging jowls, jawlines, fine lines and wrinkles. As skin loses its elasticity supportive tissue underneath, the skin begins to droop, which exacerbates worsens the visible signs of aging. A laser facelift can help address these signs of aging without any of the risks or downtime associated with traditional facelift procedures.
Laser facelift treatments stimulate collagen production and regeneration to help patients to look and feel younger. Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, on the forehead, and on the neck and body fade away when new collagen fills in the blemishes in the skin’s surface.
The laser facelifts procedure requires no incisions or injections. The laser system heats the collagen under the skin while cooling the top layers so patients experience minimal discomfort.
The results are noticeable almost immediately after the laser facelifting treatment is over, and further tightening is noticed over the coming several months following as new collagen is produced. The number of treatments needed often depends on the area being treated, and but the effects are permanent. Unlike traditional facelift surgery, laser facelifting treatments require no recovery or down time and does not stretch out the skin.
- It is non-invasive facelift threading – requires no incisions or injections
- Minimal recovery time – 3-5 days
- Short procedure time
- You can wear your hair short or up – no scarring
- No general anaesthesia – only local anaesthesia and IV sedation
- Lasting results
The Dynamis Pro laser is a multi-application laser system from Fotona that offers a single, full-featured solution providing the power of both the Er:YAG and Nd:YAG lasers, which is ideal for a wide range of applications in dermatology and aesthetics.
This laser offers up to four different dimensions of treatment by using the complementary wavelengths of the Er:YAG and Nd:YAG lasers in four different modes: SMOOTH®, FRAC3®, PIANO® and SupErficial™. When used together, these four treatments target different skin imperfections, while working on the connective structure of the skin.
The Dynamis Pro laser is equipped with a high performance Er:YAG laser to ablate the skin more efficiently due to its proprietary VSP (Variable Square Pulse) technology. This technology can be tuned to varying non-ablative thermal and cold ablation ratios that are customisable to allow the best possible result for each individual patient.
The Dynamis Pro laser is also equipped with an Nd:YAG laser that compliments the Er:YAG laser’s ablative action by penetrating deep into the skin to create a thermal effect that does not damage the surface of the skin.
At Skintech we use Fotona4D®, which is a series of non-invasive laser treatments on both the face and inside the mouth, as used for nasolabial folds oral cavity. This allows for maximum collagen production for persistent tightening without the need for injectables. We use two different wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG) with four different treatments that approach anti-ageing from different levels. These laser facelift treatments work on all levels of the deeper, superficial and medial connective structure of the skin for rejuvenation and lifting, while also targeting imperfections.
The four levels of Fotona4D® refer to the four different treatments with Fotona’s SP Spectro or SP Dynamis systems: SmoothLiftin™, PIANO®, SupErficial™ and FRAC3®. These different treatments, when used together, help to combat facial ageing with little to no downtime or anaesthesia.
This treatment uses a non-ablative Er:YAG intraoral (inside the mouth) treatment for controlled and gentle heating that stimulates collagen contraction and production. There is an immediate effect that results in the tightening of existing collagen fibres, as well as beginning the process of creating new collagen. The result is an overall improvement in the tightness and elasticity of the face treated tissue, while also plumping the nasolabial folds (smile lines) from the inside, acting like a filler.
This treatment is a fractional effect of the Nd:YAG laser and a specific pulse structure that works by generating small regional spikes of heat temperature. This non-ablative method allows for the specific treatment of deeper imperfections to compliment the effects of the other treatments while restoring a youthful texture.
The third stage of this treatment is an ultra-long Nd:YAG laser on pulse mode. The laser causes the safe and rapid heating of tissue from the outside in, by concentrating energy delivery under the skin. The PIANO uses a brushing technique to ensure that heat is distributed correctly and evenly over the desired area to create an overall tightening effect.
The final stage of this treatment uses a light, cold Er:YAG ablation to give a beautiful finish to the skin while also improving the appearance of the skin. Imperfections in the skin are also reduced by using VSP technology which enable the doctor to adjust the laser to ensure a light peel so there is no down time.
A laser facelift treatment is able to combat the signs of aging on the face such as fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and drooping around the chin and neck. Collagen production is promoted by heating the tissue just under the skin, resulting in a smoother, tighter and younger looking appearance.
How does facelift surgery differ to a laser facelift?
A laser facelift treatment can help reduce the signs of aging by decreasing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck by promoting natural collagen production. This is done by heating the supportive tissue under the skin to help it lift and tighten. The laser facelift treatment has less dramatic results than a surgical facelift, but with less risks and down time.
Facelift surgery is usually used when a person begins to notice more severe laxity in the skin, and develops jowls or loose areas of skin on the face. Surgery can help smooth major lines and wrinkles but may not be appropriate for finer lines. Facelift surgery has the risk of leaving noticeable scars at the incision area.
Laser facelift treatments are suitable for most men and women between the ages of 30 and 60 who want to do something when the skin around the face and neck begins to sag. The laser facelift can tighten any loose facial skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles in healthy skin. Laser facelift treatments are a non-invasive facelift threading, an option for all skin types and tones.
