Thermage FLX is an innovative new treatment that smooths and tightens the skin while also promoting collagen production and assisting with anti-ageing. If you’re interested in what Thermage FLX could do for your skin, arrange a consultation today at Skintech – a trusted Thermage clinic with locations across Melbourne.
Thermage FLX is a TGA and FDA approved device that uses concentrated radiofrequency energy to smooth, tighten and contour skin by stimulating collagen production. Thermage’s advanced skin tightening technology can help you achieve a more youthful looking appearance without the need for needles or surgery.

Improve crepey, sagging skin and unwanted bulges and dimples
As we age, the collagen that keeps our skin firm breaks down, resulting in aging skin that contains fine lines and wrinkles.
A Thermage FLX™ treatment uses radiofrequency technology to heat the deeper, collagen-rich layers of the skin.
The applied heat causes collagen to contract and encourages new collagen to start growing.
This helps create smoother skin after just one treatment, with results that continue to improve.
Available at Skintech Melbourne CBD and Box Hill.

Led by Medical Director Dr Ben Chan, Skintech has addressed the skin concerns of thousands of Australians for over 35 years.
Our team consists of 10 registered doctors, 7 registered nurses and 9 skin therapists who undergo extensive training and ongoing evaluation by the Aesthetics and Skin Institute.
We offer treatments that are clinically proven and supported by science, performed in a clinic environment that obeys strict safety and sanitation guidelines.
Our broad medical expertise means that we can provide advice and treatment on a wide range of aesthetics and skin concerns.
We currently offer the newest generation of Thermage in Australia which is both FDA and TGA approved. Our clinics can be found listed on the official Thermage Australia website. You may visit https://thermage.com.au/find-a-clinic/ and search “Skintech” to verify. We also ensure that we use authentic Thermage tips and have the device serviced by the company provider themselves.
There are many versions of skin tightening machines on the market that utilise RF technology. While some of them come from reputable competitor companies, many are unfortunately knock-offs that are not TGA-approved. While there are different levels of RF treatments, some of which Skintech offers as well, Thermage remains as the gold standard for RF skin tightening trusted by medical professionals around the world. Ensuring that you are receiving an authentic Thermage treatment according to the official clinical protocols is critical for your safety and peace of mind.
For most patients at our Thermage clinic, the neocollagenesis process takes place over 2 to 6 months post treatment, so your results will develop over that time. The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside. However, you will often start to observe some skin tightening straight after the procedure due to the heat energy. Results will typically last 1 to 2 years, although we do have patients who notice that it can be longer than that. Every patient’s biology and anatomy is different, so your Thermage experience may be unique to you.
Unlike many cosmetic procedures that require multiple sessions, Thermage FLX delivers results after a single treatment. Best of all, results will continue to improve over time. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to RF energy and the individual’s collagen-building process, patients will benefit from additional treatments once a year for maintenance. Because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help patients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process. In addition, we may recommend pairing Thermage with other treatments such as lasers, threads and radiofrequency to enhance the effect over time.
Thermage involves no surgery, no injections and little to no downtime, and it works on all skin types on and off the face. While laser treatments and other radio frequency procedures also smooth the surface of the skin, no other treatment heats as deeply as Thermage. By heating the innermost layers of skin, Thermage is very effective at renewing collagen, which results in smooth, sleek skin and an overall younger looking appearance.
However, there are many factors in play when it comes to treating ageing skin, and what works for someone else may be different to what works for you. One needs to take into consideration the severity of skin sagging and laxity, among other things. During your consultation at our Thermage clinic, we will be able to make a proper assessment and provide you with a tailored treatment plan.
No. Unlike surgery, there is no pre-procedure preparation such as blood work or fasting. And there is no special care required after treatment, aside from basic skin maintenance and sunscreens as part of a regular skincare regimen. Since Thermage FLX has little to no downtime, most patients return to their regular activities immediately following treatment. Some patients exhibit a temporary redness or minor swelling after treatment, but this usually goes away within 24 hours. Please keep this in mind if you have any special events to attend, although most of our patients find that it is sufficient to apply mineral makeup to cover up if needed. If you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to your Skintech professional during your consultation for more clarification.
The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. Thermage treatments average about 45 minutes for the face and up to 90 minutes for other parts of the body, depending on the size, location and condition of the area to be treated. Since Thermage is a short procedure and a single treatment, it fits into your busy lifestyle. This treatment time might be extended if the client requests to take a break in between for a more comfortable experience, which we are happy to accommodate. To be safe, please set aside at least 2 hours on the day to complete your Thermage treatment.
