Microneedling with radiofrequency, or RF microneedling, is an advanced treatment that combines the wound-healing potential of microneedling with the collagen production benefits of RF energy. Every Skintech clinic uses the FDA and TGA-approved Potenza RF microneedling system which has the ability to customise your treatment solution to tackle fine lines and wrinkles, saggy skin, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, poor skin tone and texture, and more. This makes RF microneedling an excellent choice for everything from acne scar treatment through to anti-ageing.

Potenza takes microneedling to new levels. This advanced, industry-leading RF microneedling system stimulates the skin using fine needles and emits radio frequency energy that heats up the deeper layers of the skin. The Potenza can customise your treatment solution with various handpiece tips and device settings for optimal results. Through the body’s own healing properties and growth factors, RF microneedling has been clinically proven to help patients achieve firmer skin with improved skin tone and texture.
The price of your Potenza RF microneedling treatment will depend on the severity of your skin condition and which areas you would like to treat. For example, the cost of acne scar treatment can vary from the cost of hyperpigmentation treatment. Costs may be lower due to membership savings or occasional promotions. The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. We recommend setting aside 1.5 to 2 hours for your treatment. This includes time to apply numbing cream (20-30 mins) before the actual treatment.
As with any microneedling treatment, there will be redness that can last between a few hours to roughly 3 days. Mild swelling can also occur depending on the strength of the treatment. Any redness can be easily covered with light mineral makeup. More information will be given during your consultation.
Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensations are only experienced while the microneedles and RF energy are being delivered. Numbing cream is applied prior, ensuring that there is minimal to no pain during the treatment.
Everyone is different, but some results can be seen instantly and will improve over the next 3-6 months as your body continues to produce collagen at an accelerated rate. Some results such as resurfacing of acne scars are permanent. In general, patients have reported results lasting up to 2 years, keeping in mind that the skin continues to age over time.
Acne scarring is a condition that can affect people of all ages, often occurring after active acne has been experienced. Scarring can linger long after active acne clears up, causing blemishes that can make sufferers feel self-conscious about their skin. While laser scar removal can achieve good results for acne scar treatment, RF microneedling is a safe and effective alternative that can penetrate even deeper into the skin for excellent results. This innovative acne scar treatment combines the benefits of microneedling and radiofrequency treatment in one, helping to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of acne scars on the skin.
We recommend a minimum of 4 treatments to see the best results. However, the answer to this question largely depends on your skin condition and its severity. Because the skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help patients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.
While both treatments are effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, dull skin and more, RF microneedling uses radio waves to amplify the collagen and elastin production deeper within the layers of the skin in order to ignite skin tightening alongside skin rejuvenation. Generally speaking, RF microneedling is an advanced treatment that can yield more obvious results especially when treating “trickier” skin conditions such as acne scarring. Because RF energy is able to penetrate deeper into the skin compared to laser, it’s an excellent alternative to laser scar removal, allowing for significant improvements in skin tone and texture to be achieved.
With the Potenza system, we’re also able to customise the handpiece tips and energy settings to be more intentional about the type of condition we are treating.
At Skintech, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands as all of our staff are medically trained and certified. Our skin therapists and registered nurses work alongside experienced doctors to deliver cosmetic treatments you can trust.
