What are moles?
Moles are a common phenomenon typically caused by a collection of pigment that occurs in the upper layers of the skin. They are usually harmless, but if you don’t like their appearance or if they are physically uncomfortable, you can choose to remove them.
However, you need to consider removing your moles when you notice changes in the colour, size or shape as it can be a warning sign for skin cancer. Our bulk-billing doctors are able to conduct skin cancer checks for you.
How can I remove my moles and other skin lesions?
Moles can usually be removed by radio frequency technology or medical lasers. We are also able to remove a wide range of other common skin lesions such as skin tags and cherry angioma. You will need to undergo a consultation first before proceeding with the appropriate cosmetic mole removal method.
The number of sessions required will depend on depth of pigments and number of lesions. You will need repeated treatments to shrink the lesion and destroy the pigments.
What results can I expect from cosmetic mole removal?
Over time, you should notice a reduction in the appearance of the mole or lesion. New skin will continue to form over the treated area until the skin blends in with its surrounding. Sunscreen is essential and you may be required to use topical creams to enhance the results.
